Mark is a play consultant and educator from the UK, with over 30 years experience of working in summer camps, adventure playgrounds, youth clubs and with young people who have additional needs. Mark has been managing play facilities for Local Authorities in the UK for the last 14 years. Ongoingwebassets/Markline.jpg projects include talking to community groups and schools about the importance of play in child development, and the development of challenging playgrounds and play environments. 
 
As well as speaking about the importance of play and the importance of consultation with children in the development of play spaces, Mark delivers training for playworkers and currently manages a staffed adventure playground in East London.

Mel is a writer and educator. She is particularly interested in play in curricula, particularly its role in building and strengthening originality, craft, and love of writing in children and adults.
 
 
 
 

We established this web site as a source of knowledge and help for people interested in play. Play is such an important part of a child's development, that we hope to raise awareness amongst parents/careres, educators, playworkers and other professionals, whilst providing an information base of both practical and theoretical help.
